About Gull Lake
Aspen Rise is located on Gull Lake, one of the largest lakes in South Central Alberta. At over 80 square kilometers in size Gull Lake is great for swimming and all watersports! Gull Lake boasts natural sand beaches, warm, clean water, and a variety of fish - mainly pike, pickerel, perch and whitefish. Being over 30 feet in depth, you can do any type of boating on Gull Lake. Gull Lake is also unique in that Alberta Environment is mandated to maintain the current lake level by diversion so seasonal water level fluctuations are kept to a minimum, unlike many other lakes in Alberta that have been decreasing in size over the years!
Whereas Sylvan Lake lacks a decent beach and is known for being overcrowded with partying youths and too many boats on the lake, Gull Lake is appreciated for its quiet, family-oriented activities. Stroll down the tree-lined trail from Aspen Rise to the beach, have a picnic at the playground, or head out in the boat for a relaxing afternoon sail. Keep the kids busy with swimming, fishing, trail rides, or sign them up for golf lessons at the Gull Lake Golf Course next door in Sunnyside. But be sure to point out the stars while toasting marshmallows over the campfire, and don't miss out on winter weekend opportunities at the at your Gull Lake cabin such as cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing competitions, and quiet family evenings in front of the fire.
Parkland Beach and the surrounding community provides opportunities for other activites such hiking, quadding, snowmobiling, golf and a host of classic "home town" attractions such as farmers markets and trail riding. Instead of spending your summer vacations and winter holidays at a crowded Gull Lake campground or at one of the busy RV resorts by Edmonton that don't have the best lakes, buy a piece of lake property for you and your family to enjoy year round and Gull Lake. It’s an investment that you’ll appreciate for years to come.
“Come forth into the light of things, Let Nature be your teacher.” - William Wordsworth
Gull Lake provides a getaway far enough from the busy city, but not too far. Grab basic supplies such as ice cream, a sandwich, bread, milk or even fish bait at the local Parkland Beach Store. Any other supplies you may need are close at hand with the communities of Rimbey and Bentley only minutes away, and for a city with big box retailers, it is only a half hour drive from your half acre lot to Red Deer.
Stop wasting money at RV resorts by Edmonton or Calgary or at Gull Lake campgrounds! Find the perfect lot to build your Gull Lake cabin. It's OK if you're not ready to build yet; you can park your RV or camp on the lot in the meantime.
